London Ramblings (part 1)

  • Ever fancied someone on your way to work? Never had the guts to talk to that person. No big deal here in the UK. You can easily send a comment to Metro (the newspaper) and it will get published on their website and eventually eventually even in the newspaper edition!! Check out the link. People seem a bit desperate in this life, but oh well, some of them are sort of fun so let it be...
  • I got stuck in the Park for the second time. This time it was Kensington Gardens. Thing is, those f*ckers who are in charge of shutting down the gates put on such a big time hustling effort you wonder if they have fun leaving people stuck inside, moreover as they see you coming towards the gate (and we’re talking 30m distance maybe) and still don’t give a crap about you being stuck inside… And the hedge is quite an obstacle, when trying to get out, I’m telling you!!
  • Checked out a couple of new places in London last weekend: “Funky Buddha” and “24”. The first one was sort of OK, a bit small, a bit too much hip hop and weird music in general but it was fun. At some point my flatmate tried to talk me into getting to dance but that is as unlikely to work out well, as Spain pushing for a Football World Cup success. I gave it a try, sort of, and I’m sure I didn’t look any better than this. Sad, sad, sad… “24” on the other hand was a bit crappy. “Over posh”, expensive, and the venue wasn’t too cool either… We spotted Ballack at some point and he was having a cocktail, probably just to forget about his Chelsea game earlier that day…. It’s always amazing to spot a famous person in a Club because you could probably rank’em on a celebrity level, according to their entourage: The German football star had like 27 people around him which seemed a bit odd considering he’s not a Rapper or an American Pro Sports Player…
... more to follow. I just felt I needed to post something :)

About me

  • Bonjour, I'm Marco, welcome to my little place on the Internet.
  • I started this blog when I arrived in London in early 2006, hence the name “london-connection”. In the meantime I have moved to Paris, after a short stint in Geneva. I like to write about silly stuff, about sports, travelling and going out… just about everything that crosses my mind, actually. The little things that spice life up a bit.
  • I hope you enjoy the trip...
