D-Day for Barça... Biggest game in 12 years!!

Wednesday, April 26, for Barça tonight it's either Paris or... well, I don't even dare thinking of a possible failure tonight. It just shouldn’t happen and not only for us, the fans, who’ve been waiting for a return to the top of the World’s most important competition but because Barça is a better team than Milan and they play the better football. It’s that simple!!!

Actually I'm already quite excited about the game. It feels like the old Dream Team days when I was a kid. And I feel confident this time unlike some years ago, when we were in this same round as well and our team consisted of basically 2 or 3 good players but you couldn't talk about a real TEAM back then.
This time it's different. And I've felt like that all the way: both in Stamford Bridge, even when we fell one goal behind and watching the San Siro match. Barça is the best team in Europe these days, with the best player on their side, and probably they even were last season barring the dreadful 25 minute Spain vs. Chelsea.
So it's not about facing Milan tonight and having to be scared! It's them who are one goal behind, it's Milan who has to control Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Eto'o (will he regain a bit of his pre African-Cup form tonight?!?), it's them who have to set the pace of the game in order to have a chance at all. And don't get me wrong, I am not saying we will no matter what... One lucky or not so lucky goal by Milan could bring the fear out of certain Barça players and you know, they are an Italian side and know how to get the maximum in this shaky moments.

Well, I just wish my team the best and yep, I can see them advancing to the FINAL... Good luck guys!

About me

  • Bonjour, I'm Marco, welcome to my little place on the Internet.
  • I started this blog when I arrived in London in early 2006, hence the name “london-connection”. In the meantime I have moved to Paris, after a short stint in Geneva. I like to write about silly stuff, about sports, travelling and going out… just about everything that crosses my mind, actually. The little things that spice life up a bit.
  • I hope you enjoy the trip...
