Quick NBA Playoffs preview...

... before I go to bed, cos the Playoffs actually do start tomorrow:

Here my picks:

First Round

Detroit over Milwaukee in 5
Washington over the Cavs in 6
Miami over Chicago in 5
New Jersey over Indiana in 6

Dallas over Memphis in 6 (But Pau will fight Dirk to death here, I just know it and I also know they hate each other so it will be closer than many of you think. Spanish pride and honour on the table here... Sadly the Mavs supporting cast is wicked. I can´t think of a reason why anyone would not mention this loud enough when including Nowitzki in all those "MVP discussion" and him carrying his team talks. He sure did but come on, look at Stack, Daniels, Howard, TERRY(!!!)... )
Clippers over Denver in 5
Kings over Spurs in 6 (the "roll the dice" pick of the year, just because I think Artest has made them a hell of a scary team. Because I´ve always believe in Bibby and well, they have a weak bench but I just don´t see San Antonio with Duncan hurt as strong as in the past, plus I think Parker is overhyped, Finley looks abit washed up and you might think I´ve no clue at all but Shareef will prove himself in this series, which actually are going to be the biggest games in his career, he just has to!!! All that with Horry´s permison, of course.)
Suns over Lakers in 7

Second Round

Detroit over Washington in 7 (Arenas, a deadly executer, will be huge this Playoffs and yes, I always liked and supported him and wanted his shirt when he was playing for the Warriors, and my ex-gf, who was over in San Francisco by then, laughed at me for wanting HIS shirt... Now you tell me, if Arenas was the man or not... he just needs one more quality player on his team to make the leap next year. Someone down low.)

Miami over New Jersey in 6 (Watch out for Shaq this spring and also my boy Antoine...)

Clippers over Suns in 7 (Sam I am and Brand running the show with help from the Serbian guy here...)

Kings over Dallas in 7 (and Artest completely shutting down Dirk here)

Conference Finals

Miami over Detroit in 7 (someone has to believe in Shaq, still...)

Kings over Clippers in 6 (Bibby allllll the way)

NBA FINALS

Miami over Sacramento in 6 (With Artest competely freakin´out here and Toine getting his ring which would make me the happiest guy on earth for him)

MVP: Bibby if that is even possible without his team winning the Final, I think NO, actually...Let´s go with Shaq then

There´s a little bit too much of "I wish" i this predictions possibly but hey "Hope is a good thing" as Andy Dufresne alredy told us... and fighting for Zihuatanejo (an NBA ring) can unveil the biggest of surprises, though not very often I must admit... Anyway, I´m with the Grizzlies and Kings in this order. Other than these two I like the Clippers, Wizards and Toine...

About me

  • Bonjour, I'm Marco, welcome to my little place on the Internet.
  • I started this blog when I arrived in London in early 2006, hence the name “london-connection”. In the meantime I have moved to Paris, after a short stint in Geneva. I like to write about silly stuff, about sports, travelling and going out… just about everything that crosses my mind, actually. The little things that spice life up a bit.
  • I hope you enjoy the trip...
